A Utah Hiking Guide
Hiking the
Wasatch
Mountains
The State with the View — the trails, the tips, and the lessons only decades of hiking can teach.
Hiking in Utah is an experience that one will always remember. Every time I hike, I remember that I live in the Rocky Mountains — because it is rocky! And everything is uphill, so be prepared. There is no meandering down a beautiful path, next to a stream, where you can lazily take in the sights while putting in miles of a hike. No — you have to earn every view of a valley, a lake, and a waterfall. But I am here to tell you it is well worth the effort, just know it will be effort.
I have hiked these mountains my entire life, and each year I am blessed enough to discover a new trail which always leaves me saying, “How have I never hiked this trail before?” I hope to share whatever wisdom I have gained in these past decades of trekking through these hills — and I hope it encourages you to venture out and experience the beauty Utah has to offer!
